Responsibilities
- Be a resident subject matter expert in AI with a focus on computer vision, deep learning, and semi-supervised and unsupervised learning.
- Conduct research and development in machine learning and computer vision to create innovative solutions.
- Build visual models to analyze and process image, video, and text data and combine them with additional external and internal sources of multi-modal data
- Build scalable vision systems across item understanding, pose estimation, class imbalanced classifiers, identification, and segmentation.
- Drive ideas to products using paradigms such as deep learning, semi-supervised learning, and active learning, utilizing Python and TensorFlow for model training and data analysis.
- Analyze and interpret data to drive insights and improve existing models.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong desire to build and scale a startup from the early days.
- Experienced in machine learning and computer vision, in research and/or production.
- Proficient in computer vision technologies and frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Master’s/ PhD and 4+ year industry experience in relevant areas.
Required skills
- Experience with computer vision or multi-modal tasks like semantic segmentation, object detection, instance segmentation, text-to-image, etc.
- Knowledge of neural networks, CNNs, and image processing techniques.
- Understanding of multimodal models, modern ML architectures (transformers, diffusion models, etc.), and imitation/reinforcement learning.
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques, with hands-on experience in LLMs (e.g., GPT-3, LaMDA), computer vision (e.g., CNNs, object detection).
- Experience in quality detection, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection using machine learning techniques.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with open-source frameworks for building applications powered by language models like LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.
- Experience with large-scale machine learning systems such as profiling and debugging and understanding of system performance and scalability.
- Peer-reviewed publications in multi-modality, large language models, continual learning and/or federated learning.

Responsibilities
- Develop back-end services and models to manage code generation, cloud workflows, monitors, and customer workloads.
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance, and secure server-side applications.
- Architect and implement solutions using AWS services, including DynamoDB, Aurora, Lambda, and others.
- Ensure high code quality and maintainability through best practices such as code reviews, testing, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance issues and production incidents.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and AWS updates, incorporating them into the development process where applicable.

Required Qualifications
– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
– At least 5 years of hands-on experience in backend development using **Java** or **Python**.
– Strong proficiency with the **AWS stack**, including but not limited to DynamoDB, Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL), Lambda, S3, API Gateway, CloudFormation or CDK, IAM (Identity and Access Management), CloudWatch (Monitoring and Logging).
– Experience with designing and managing microservices architectures.
– Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs.
– Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
– Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working in startup environment, either as a founder or early-stage engineer.
- Experience with open-source frameworks for building applications powered by language models like LangChain, LlamaIndex, etc.
- Familiarity with **Event-Driven Architectures** using AWS SNS/SQS or EventBridge.
- Familiarity with caching technologies like **Redis** or **ElastiCache**.
